YouTube has begun experimenting with 3D videos in a move that could eventually allow brands to run online ad campaigns that give new meaning to the phrase 'stand-out'.The Google-owned video sharing site is allowing a developer to work on the 'stereoscopic video player' initiative during the one day a week all employees are allocated to devote to personal projects.
On the YouTube Help forum, the Google staffer known only as Pete says: ‘I'm the developer working on the stereoscopic player as a 20 per cent project. It's currently very early, hence the silly bugs. Your feedback and suggestions are welcome, but as this isn't my primary project I can't promise a speedy turnaround with improvements.'
